Apex Door Lock System
Apex Door Lock System is developed by The Seven. Our team leader is Lim Ying Tong while our members include Liew Choy Tung, Ong Shi Mei, Tan Qian Hui, Teh Ven Ting, Tan Yi Wen and Tan An Chee.
Generally, traditional locks are heavy and delicate as they are easily damaged. Hence, the usage of traditional lock system is the major risk factor for rising household burglary. There are various advanced smart door locks available in the market. However, they are expensive and may not be applicable to all users.
Nowadays, many people suffer from burglaries due to the weak security of door locks. People also encounter problem when they lose or misplace their keys. Thus, apex door lock system can be implemented to curb this problem. This system also can be implemented in the hostel where the students can use their student cards as the key to unlock the room’s door.
This system not only offers convenience to users but also enhance household security. By using such smart lock, burglary rate will decrease as it alerts the user by sending a warning message whenever denied access is detected.
In this project, the user first scans the card through RFID reader. If the card is identified, the door will unlock. The green LED lights up and the LCD displays “Door unlock”. If the card is not identified, the door will remain locked. Red LED lights up and the LCD displays “Undefined card”. Meanwhile, a warning message is sent to the house or room owner’s handphone through SIM 800L GSM module.
